Fibre for healthy bowels?

It's not unusual for psyllium husk to have the opposite effect and become binding if you are not drinking enough water. If you want healthy bowel movements, the best fiber is the fiber found in fruits and vegetables. Fibers such as bran and psyllium actually absorb moisture from the intestines, and without drinking enough water, this can cause a binding.
