Do you need a licence to catch crawdads In CA?

I live in CA and have a c behind my neighborhood there are the little crawdads that look like Mina lobsters. I want to catch some and keep as pets can I with out a permit or license. I dont need a ticket for poaching or some gay as law so can I catch them. If yes and you have any tips let me know thanks.
