How do you say "fund raiser" in spanish?

How do you say, "fund raiser" in Spanish? As in, the school carnival is a fund raiser for the PTA. I have heard,"Recaudar fondos", and I've also heard, "Levantar fondos". Are they both acceptable? What is best? Thanks.
