I get pretty disgusted, yes. I question the intelligence of MANY people on this site, along with the intelligence of many of my fellow citizens. I'm a Democrat, primarily due to being Pro-Choice, Pro-Gay Rights, Pro-Environment and Pro-Education. I prefer that our government be there for it's people (all of them. Not just the rich ones.) and not just it's corporations. Still, I RESEARCH my candidates and the issues facing my country and my state (California, BTW). I do lean more left, certainly, but I can see some of the points on the right (for example, I am PRO-Gun rights). My biggest issue lately is people's amnesia! They HATE on Obama and the Democrats, blaming them for the current state of the economy in this nation, but did they forget where that started? Do the REALLY think putting right-wing Republicans BACK in office is going to make things better?! Or worse, the Tea-Bag crazies?! Yeah - they are going to make things better. I shudder...

How can I encourage a gopher snake to eat?

My boyfriend's gopher snake has been refusing to feed for around two months. She used to have a very active appetite and would go for live or frozen mice. She has shed normally, has no external injuries, does not appear super thin and has a proper cage temperature, but she has not eaten for several weeks. We can't seem to find any store that has Zilla Jump Start reptile appetite stimulant in stock, so that route has failed. I'm planning to relocate to Florida or maybe Georgia and from what I'm hearing there are places that are quite depressed in this economy and should be avoided since they don't support the economy. 1 year old doberman puppy chronic loose stools. Vets tested for multiple things.?

I need help. Vets can not determine what is wrong with my 1 year old Fawn Doberman. He has chronic loose stools. Multiple blood tests. first two didn't show anything out of the ordinary. This last one done by an internist says B12 way down, and other pancreatic enzymes are down. Wants him started on weekly B12 shots. Internist says he IS NOT presenting most of the symptoms of pacreatis.... any other ideas? He is a wonderful dog and belongs to my 15 year old daughter. well you do eat really unhealthy, but 5'10 at 124 lbs your definitely not overweight. You must have a good metabolism so enjoy it while it lasts because when you get older eating this kind of stuff will really pack the weight on. Most girls eat puny chicken wraps and that stuff because they don't have the gift of a fast metabolism and don't wanna put on the weight.

Herniated discs! c1 c2 c3 c4 c5 c6 c7 T1 L5 S1...my doc refused to increase meds! what the hell!?

hello, 18mos ago i was told i had 2 herniated discs, L5 S1, i have a high tolerance for pain from being in the marines, wrestling, being a cop for 14yrs until i went out on a med disability etc. i can take some pain and i dont go to my pain mgt. doctor buggin for pain meds etc. for the whole 18months i knew there was something more going on! i advised the doc like hey man, uh i have shooting pain down my arms, legs, and ungodly amounts of stiffness in my joints, back, neck etc. then i asked for stronger pain meds, something more than 15mgs of percocet 6x daily etc. he blew me off, in fact he didnt even ask what how i was feeling! oh but dont miss your copay man, THEN YOU VE GOT THEIR ATTENTION! well, the mri results i asked for finally came back, after them losing them etc, yea, just like i thought, all of the discs in my are herniated, the thoracic T1, L5, S1 and all C! through %7 are spurred/herniated and then this pain doctor still would not increase the pain meds! he apologized too me and said i know your are a legitimate patient and your symptoms are valid based on the mri, then he walked out saying too me that i should work hard for the next 10yrs as i may be in a wheelchair etc. he mentioned a laminectomy back procedure and said i' d be in bed for 6 mos, i dont believe it! this guy just makes wisecracks about my conidition and bitches that he has too many patients on oxycontin etc. im thinking yea jack becasue half of those idiots are abusing them and dont need them, now that im legit, i get screwed and sterotyped as a seeker i guess cuz he keeps lying to me about meds etc. i refused methadone, i refused oxycontin but now my back has decompensated to the point with arthritis, multiple discs hernations that im scared for my health. i think now that oxycontin ie. a long acting opoid may be necessary. my current doc. is 83yrs and doesnt gitve ****, so im leaving to another doc! anyone have any opinions on meds, procedures, how to proceed on this? is chiropractic bad at this point? everybody wants to beat up on my insurance card man, its crazy. now hes talking surgery, but when i ask for some meds stronger than 15mgs he blows me off! ive refused methadone, fentanyl patches, oxycontin, and now i need to do somthing, it hurts tremendously. my doc is 83yrs old and walks around bitching that he works 7 days a week, and the whole office is loaded with hillbilly patients that all look like junkies. im thinking that this is the element that they like as im clean clut, aggressive, i want answers, not necessarily just meds, i want options, i dont think they like this. but hell men i talk to the patients around me and they go in and get meed that help them, they say the doctor gives it too them, my conditions is worse that those i have talk too etc. i dont get it! advise!

Just for kicks, I decided to test a new psychiastrist and give him no diagnoses. And you know what he said to me? He said "well I can see that there is no diagnoses, so what would YOU LIKE ME TO WRITE IN THE DIAGNOSES FIELD." When I said, "write no diagnoses," he said "your insurance company wont cover this visit if I don't write in a diagnoses." What does that tell you about so-called mental illness folks?

On Y&R did anyone else think they have made unrealistic legal decisions like letting Daisy out of jail?

Daisy was caught & jailed with no bail for kidnapping ( 2 people) , isting with attempted murder, threats with a gun, and ault & battery. Probably other charges too, so " no bail" is logical for a judge to rule. Then because she developed bleeding with placenta previa the judge lets her out into Phyllis's care (she's not a nurse, thank God) with just an ankle monitor & bail. This is totally wrong. Phyllis leaves her with no guard & today while Daisy is alone, her door is unlocked & she just calls out from the couch "Come in". Of course she's supposed to be on bed rest like that would stop her from walking out the door if someone could cut the monitor off or disarm if. In the prison system ( I worked in one for years) there are medical units including the section where the prisoners come to see the doctor for sick call & a hospital wing with 20 - 30 beds (depending on the size of the prison) for in patients, where prisoners can stay under an RN supervision 24 hours a day. Daisy could have been sent to the prison hospital wing, with a nurse & correction officer, under guard. If she started to bleed she would have been sent to the hospital for surgery or delivery immediately with no chance of escape. Instead she's alone & if something happens to her she also has no phone & could bleed to death. Or go into labor & lose the baby with no one to help her. It makes no sense logically to leave her alone since the reason she was let out was because her pregnancy was in danger & she needed supervision which a prison hospital would give her. Y&R should check their facts for they either didn't or feel their viewers wouldn't know about prisons & how they work. Also it is just plain stupid too to leave her alone. By the way, prisoners watch soap operas too.Although their favorite show is "America's Most Wanted" they watch Y&R because so many people go to jail in it.

Good parents or not good?

Ok so I moved in with these people when I was 8 didn't really care so got settled in. You need to go and see a gynecologist as soon as possible. Yes a hysterectomy would fix your problem but until a doctor does other things first you probably won't be able to get one. There are quite a few things that can be done, medicines for example. There is also a procedure where they install a "balloon" to help with the periods and the bleeding. Talk to your doctor and see what he or she recommends.

There is 0 daycare istance in Miami-Dade County. What do I do? I don't earn enough @ work to pay!?

I've just started working and I have a 16 month old son. I need daycare in order to continue working. I can't afford to pay for daycare yet because I only earn 300 a week. My rent and all other bills almost exceed what I earn. DCF- They only offer child care istance if you obtain the job through their workforce program and if you were receiving cash istance. I'm not. I receive food stamps and medicaid. Miami Development- 1 1/2 year waiting list. My application is in and if I don't hear from them by November they will through it out and I'll have to re-apply for the wait list. Head Start- All locations that offer early head start are full for the Sept 1 2011 session. There is nothing now, and there will be nothing for another year! Also, with Head Start you can only apply to one of the locations and sit on thrir waiting list. You cannot apply to all of them and see who has a slot first because they will delete everyone with multiple applications. I can't afford to not work and I can't afford to pay for daycare in order to work. WHAT THE H#77 DO I DO NOW? Child Support- Father barely earns anything anymore. He doesn't have to pay... I realize I wasn't very specific in the question. I'm very curious about the topic. You see, one of my friends broke their leg and had to use crutches. Nearly the same thing happened to one of my other friends, but she got to wear this huge boot, and she could walk around without crutches. Do you get the choice between a boot or crutches, or is there a certain number of days you have to achieve to get upgraded from a cast to a boot? Juval Aviv gave intelligence (via what he had gathered in Israel and the Middle East) to the Bush Administration about 9/11 a month before it occurred. We should have hit hard and left immediately. Now for the scary stuff.... He predicts the next attack on the U.S. Is coming within the next few months. Forget hijacking airplanes because he says terrorists will NEVER try and hijack a plane again as the people on the plane will not go down quietly. Aviv believes our airport security is a joke- we are being reactionary versus looking at strategies that are effective. 1) our machines are outdated. They look for metal and the new explosives are made of plastic 2) He talked about how some idiot tried to light his shoe on fire - we now have to take off our shoes, a group of idiots tried to bring aboard liquid explosives - now we can't bring liquids on board. He is waiting for some suicidal maniac to pour liquid explosive on their underwear and light up in a plane or in the terminal and then we will all have to travel naked! 3) We only focus on security when people are heading to the gates, he says that if a terrorist attack targets airports in the future, they will target busy times and on the front end when people are checking in. It would be easy for someone to take two suitcases of explosives, walk up to a busy check-in line, ask a person next to them to watch their bags for a minute while they run to the restroom or get a drink and then detonate the bags BEFORE security even gets involved. Israel checks bags before people can enter the airport. Now, back to his predictions: He says the next attack will come in a few months and will involve suicide bombers and non-suicide bombers in places that people congregate: Disneyland, Las Vegas, Big Cities (NY, SFO, Chicago, etc...) and there it will be shopping malls, subways in rush hour, train stations, casinos, etc.. As well as rural America (Wyoming, Montana, etc...). The attack will be simultaneous detonations around the country (they like big impact) 5-8 cities including rural areas. They won't need to use suicide bombers because at largely populated places like the MGM Grand in Vegas - they can simply valet park! He says this is well known in intelligence circles but our government does not want to alarm Americans. However, he also said that the US will attack Iran and Syria before Bush leaves office. In addition, since we don't have enough troops The US will likely use small, strategic nuclear weapons regardless that the headlines the next day will read "US Nukes Islamic World" and the world will be a different place to such an extent that global warming will be irrelevant. He travels regularly to the Middle East and he knows his stuff. On a good note - he says we don't have to worry about being nuked - he says the terrorists who want to destroy America will not use sophisticated weapons - they like suicide as the frontline approach. He also says the next level of terrorists will not be coming from abroad, but will be homegrown - having attended our schools and universities - but will have traveled frequently back and forth to the Middle East. Hi, I purchased a glock a few weeks ago and have been to the range about 3-4 times since. When i first bought it, I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn at 10 yards+, a few trips to the range later, Im getting grouping of about 10 inches at 10 yards. I got bit by something on my toe at school on friday. When I got home, my toe was swollen and burning, the large bump pretty apparent. I soaked it in the bath and then applied calamine lotion. After a while, I put a bandaid and neosporin. The next morning, the bandaid had fallen off and my toe was just all red, but it was normal size. A few hours later, it started itching like crazy, but stinging when I touched it to scratch it. Now, sunday, it is doing the same thing and is super swollen, red, burning, and itching. Asking us to pay for a meal; Is this bad etiquette?

I'm living in student accommodation in a flat. On our floor there are three flats and we all every-so-often cook for each other. My flat and another one have never asked for money for this. However, the cook in the flat next door has asked us to pay for the 2 out of 3 times he has cooked. The portions are decent sized. but as there are so many of us, i'm pretty sure the amount he asks of us exceeds what he actually paid for the ingredients. Furthermore, on one occasion, he asked us all to clean up his kitchen for him so he had room to cook. we had been at his flat the night before and used gles to drink out of, but he expected us to clean more than that and he didn't even help! I feel a bit put out because he is the one offering to cook for us, yet expects payment and I accept his offer out of politeness more than anything else. Am I being too sensitive? and If not, is there a polite way to decline without being rude, when all my other flatmates go over?

How can I get more horsepower and performance out of my 1998 buick lesabre limited?

I was just wondering how I could get my car to be faster without sacrificing MPG. I was looking on ebay and saw these chips that they say increase MPG and add horsepower. They run about 25 bucks or less and they say they just plug right in to your car. They say they are safe. Do they do what they claim to do or can they damage my car. I know it's not going to be a race car but I just want to unlock my engines potential (GM 3800 SERIES II V6 ). Is there anybody who has experience with the performance chips they sell on ebay? Whats Wrong With Me?

Ever since I've been a young child I have always had problems with socializing and making friends. I have always felt awkwardness when speaking with people and now that I am older it seems to be getting worse. I will begin my second year of college and seem to be regressing socially. I moved to a new city for cles thinking that would help but I think that has much to do with my failures. When I am in cles I often have to leave early because I feel shortness of breath, chest pain and nervousness, this is the same when I am in a situation when talking with a lot of students. I also find it hard to sit down for a long time when around a lot of People, I feel antsy. The crazy thing is that I feel those same nervousness feelings from just thinking those things! Needless to say I spend much of my time at home. I feel as though I am not maturing at the rate because I avoid social situations. Does anyone know of any medications or exercises that will help. Has anyone experienced these feelings themselves and have gotten help? Please no rude comments.

Seperating after 21 years marriage?

Who's right, I have been married to my wife for 21 yr and together a little longer. We have two lovely children now 18,20 and have had the usual good and bad times. neither of us ever been or wanted anyone else( I think). However my career takes us all over the place and we have lived in the most breathtaking locations within UK. I have spent 2 yrs here 5 yrs there and so on. This has always been the same and usually each move has been to better ourselves. Unfortunately my job requires that I live on site so we have always had tied housing,although do have our own place somewhere where we would like to retire to one day. The last two yrs i have had 2 jobs which have been a nightmare so have moved twice quickly although within the same area. My wife now has a life here and her own job which is fulfilling her. However i have been offered what I consider my dream position which should be for the rest of my career in a part of the country that i love. My wife refuses to even look at the position and has said she will stay put here.Problem is that when I give up my role the house goes, she does not yet want to go to our own house and I can not afford to rent for her and her salary is rather low in terms. If we seperate will she get housing help in the short term. Wife says that I am making her homeless yet i have a house to go to in a different area which I would like her to join me in.Anyone tell me anything ?

Lately, I've been under quite a deal of stress.. I'm a mother of a 14 month old, step mother to a 2 year old.. My boyfriend works 80 miles away so is gone 14 hours a day.. And I have to watch his 2 year old every other week. On top of that we live with his parents, and it is VERY stressful! Lately since he started his job, I've been experiencing these strange bouts. I get tingly in my arms, legs, and back at randoms times. My chest feels heavy. My breathing feels labored. I feel shaky. Like I want to throw up. and sometimes I feel like I have pain in my chest. But I do not get what is triggering it. It is purely random. Is that some sort of anxiety? It only happens periodically throughout the day, and I noticed they are worse when I drink caffeine. Treatment for obscure auditory dysfunction (OAD)?

some years back i saw an ENT specialist consultant and he did hearing tests, my results came back normal/maybe slightly above normal hearing. but i have difficulty hearing what people are saying when theres background noise in social situations and also when i work in theatre and theres the background noise of machines and suction (bit of a problem!). i was diagnosed with OAD. he said it was a rare condition and that there was nothing u can do about it. this was some yrs back. was just wondering if anyone knows of any treatment or anything that may help? thanks.

Horse will NOT go and bucks?

I am very scared of my horse right now. He use to go whenever I asked, but now he literally will not move. He will go toward his buddy (I put him in a little corral so he won't distract) but nooooooo, when I move the opposite direction, he will not budge. The worst part is if I just squeeze him normally, he'll back up. I do it again- a hard buck! He doesn't do it ten times in a row like a rodeo, but he will do a buck. Boyfriend's Ex-Wife wants to stay with us.?

My live-in boyfriend has two children from a previous marriage. Unfortunately, his kids are in a different country and he hasn't seen them in 7 months. He misses them terribly. His ex-wife agreed to accompany them to the US so that they could stay with us for a week and 1/2 in March. She and her new husband were to stay close by in a hotel while the kids stay with us. Now she's changed her mind and says the hotel is too expensive (even though my boyfriend has very generously offered to SPLIT the cost of the hotel) and is going to have to stay in our apartment. There is no privacy in our apartment as there is an open floorplan. I've never met the kids nor the ex nor the new husband. I'm not sure how to react to this situation. Need urgent help with fish tank!?

[panics] mk, i just got home n my mother proudly presented me with my fish tank, that she'd just cleaned thouroughly...completely. there wasnt a speck of dirt anywhere. all the gravels been thouroughly cleaned, the plants have been cleaned, the tank has been cleaned, and it has completely new water. 100% of it. aside from that, she decided the filter was getting smelly and cleaned it with eucalyptus oil. thankfully she hasnt re-installed it in my tank, and shes left my fish outta the tank so far cause she thought i might wanna reintroduce them to the tank. im freaking out though...last time i did a thourough clean like that 1 of my fishes died...i dont want the others to die! is it bad to introduce them into such a shockingly clean tank with no bacteria etc? and will the filter kill them? (even though i rinsed and scrubbed at it to try and get rid of euc. oil traces)...what should i do? my poor fish are sitting in a container waiting for their new home, but will it kill them?
